Saw these guys in the Split Enz incarnation back in Perth W.A. around 83′..and was amazed..
Great group.. Crowded House even moreso.. and Neil and Tim both have fine solo lp’s as well.
if you ever have a case of the “Sunday Morning Coming Down..Blues”, just pop on one of the cd’s..you will be healed.
P.S. bit of trivia: Tim and Neil show up on a half dozen songs on Phil Manzanera’a insane lp:”K-Scope”..

Gotta say Whoa Daddy to this one.
I would say on a pop scale that Split Enz were a pretty good new wave/pop band but everything I’ve heard from those two since has been perty wimpy.
(That’s just my OP)
Recently heard ‘em on “Morning becomes English”..sorry I mean “eclectic”
and I guess I’m just not a fan.
I know for this negativity I’ll be dueled to death after my next one.
Oh well. Just playin’ it straight!
saw these guys at Coachella. they had the unfortunate circumstance of being two sets ahead of rage against the machine, which meant all the rage-heads (read: smelly teenagers & knuckle-dragging-30-somethings) were already crowding the stage and obnoxiously yelling for said band. it got so bad somebody even threw a water bottle and hit Neil Finn in the head. they played through it but it was really a shame. Their big reunion show and the Coachella organizers blow it with the scheduling. a lesson learned hopefully.
