never ‘not relevant” cause we as people haven’t learned a f…ing thing.
thank you to those folks ..musicians…artists…poets… for reminding us of same.
now, lets get to work!
I understand Dr. yet I was talking of the specifics of this certain track and it’s
current relevance to the damn ‘Flag Decals’ on the SUV’s!
I do agree with you on all those great musicians and their awareness!
I’m actually surprised more have not commented on this certain issue?
(the stupid stickers and flags that is)
I really appreciate the dreamer mentality of the artist/musician. their want of the perfect world is something we all want , and envision. Many people are proud of their country, so they have a different opinion, big deal.,so they have a flag on their car,who cares, peace sign, who cares. Artists do have HUGE egos, they have to. Many also feel they know better than the common man with his flag sticker on his car. But do they? The elitists continue to denegrate the average joe for being patriotic. That is very close-minded and elitist. People claim to be open minded to other’s opinions, but only those they agree with. I saw CSNY at Hollywood Bowl recently. Brother Neil started spewing about Bush/America etc. Same tired tripe they all say “impeach Bush” etc. getting the crowd all frenetic with their 60′s mantra (old herd mentality). I really think it’s all Madison Avenue, (they so love the sixties) but they are so transparent. They all benefit handsomely from America, but refuse to acknowledge it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
i think a lot of the reaction against flags has more to do with the general thought behind putting one on, and less about the actual flag itself and what it represents. especially over the last 6+ years, it reads as more of a defensive gesture of patriotism. and talk about herd mentality, from late 01 into the start of the iraq war, you seemingly weren’t apart of america if you didn’t have one on. i agree with you though, who really cares? the best way to show you love america is to be a responsible and conscious citizen.
If you really knew anything at all about Neil you would’nt be using him as an example of negativity. Yes, I’m sure there are the hypocrites but steer clear of Neil cuz he does sooo much good for this country as a concerned citizen.
It may seem like ‘tired tripe’ to you but you’re certainly not paying attention to what he’s really saying due to a generalization of the 60′s artist which i can understand.
The man loves people and truly cares about this country and it’s future.(and the average joe)
Talk about zzzzzzzzzz? Buzz words like elitie………
Neil and Willie Nelson may seem ‘elite’ because they’re in the public eye as rock stars yet the example they give with their Bio tour buses etc. to their fans
(common men/women) is way beyond anybody in our government is doing to
help inform the people on ways to act for a positive change!
