I received this video courtesy of our friend, Steve Barilotti… he has been working with D. Rastovich on a documentary entitled “Minds in the Water’, and was part of the team that attempted to intervene and stop this example of inter-species genocide.
It is easy to blow off “celebrity based” activism as (simply) photo ops , based on flavor of the moment issues that come and go depending on media scrutiny…and resultant publicity …that frequently benefits the activist..more than the real issue at hand.
This is not one of those instances.
Many of you have perhaps seen this footage before..it is graphic and disgusting… and I think especially so for surfers as we all have an intuitive, instinctive bond with cetacean life and recognize them as sacred..equals.

Dave was in the Bonzer shop yesterday….we had a nice chat and plan a surf later in the week. A good man, with a good mind and heart.
I’m on the Visual Petition. But if they really want it to work they need the Japanese surf community behind it.
I would loooove to see Rasta ride a real Campbell Bros Bonzer*whew*.
