Apologies to Jacob for busting in before the new year but …damn, I just could’nt resist after the Dr. mentioned this Mavis Lp. Not only is she in classic great form but Ry Cooder’s production puts Jim Keltner’s completely out of hand drumming up front and center. For those not in the know he’s been the man for years from Withers to Harrison to you name it. Even Money Mark! (a session I missed by mere hours)
Imagine an octopus with all arms having minds of their own (which is kinda true) and layin’ it down and dirty
and oh so solid.
