Oh Iowa

Two days before the unfortunately incredibly important Iowa caucuses, this paragraph sums up perfectly where I’m at in this Democratic nominating process…

if Edwards wins in Iowa by running left and pissing people off, that’ll be a good thing for the world. By contrast, while there’s a lot I like about Barack Obama, if he wins Iowa it won’t have been by running hard on the things I like best about him.

More than anything, I want this country to move in a progressive direction. Edwards is the only viable candidate that I can see doing that. I’ve come to feel that Obama will throw progressives under the bus when his back’s against the wall, rather then fighting back with us. I could be wrong, and I hope I am if he wins the nomination, but so far Obama has already proved he’s willing to use progressives as a foil in order to keep his persona of “the great uniter”.

I’ve really wanted to vote for Obama, but with his latest foil against the last two presidential Democratic nominees, it’s put me over the top and into Edwards’ camp. I guess that makes me and Ralph Nader the latest Edward supporters.

(god help us if Clinton is the nominee)

I regret to say that yer right about Obama and his ‘aim to please’.
I do wish that he would be the man we all think he is/was.
What’s yer thoughts on Biden as VP to either him or Edwards?
