Wow. Obama killed it tonight in Iowa. Call me a sucker, call me a turn coat after my (Iowa) endorsement of Edwards, Obama’s speech tonight gave me goose bumps.
…let me also mention, Edwards’ message of corporate greed really came through tonight and got him into second place. Hilliary’s message of [something goes here] did not work. The Clinton name can only get you so far.
I still wish Edwards would have won…but an Obama, Edwards 1-2 finish will obviously still make a lot of us smile tonight.

Yes, Bring on the shivers.
Amazing speech.
He rolled out the pulpit a bit there.
really positive stuff.
Obama has some seriously cool suits. He should be in a Tarantino movie.
His blue tie in this video sucks, but his other suits are badass.
Obama is a joke. If you buy him selling hope and inspiration I’ve got some middle east swamp land for you. Hope and inspiration. Come on , smarten up.
Who you buyin’ mr. J?
I don’t want to buy anything. So far they are all Buffoons. Hilary and her cheating husband definitely have the political experience to know how to work the bureaucratic bullshit of our political system. I can’t believe people are buying into Obama’s self righteous, I’m a proud black man Bullshit! If any thing , stealing of MLK tone and music is a disgrace. The black man is not that worried about the white man. But, the white man sure feels guilty still. The 60′s are gone, 70′s over, 80′s done, 90′s are behind. 2007. If I sound pissed off , I am. And feel it’s o.k. to feel pissed when this country has been run into the shit by a god fearing, war mongering heathen of a fuckin president.
I don’t know what you expect out of Obama. He can’t run as the “angry black”, just as Hillary can’t run as the “nurturing mother”. The problem many of us have is that because of this limits we as a society have placed on certain race/gender/creed, we don’t have the opportunity to really know what’s going on behind the veil because they always have to fit in the box.
…..
With Hillary, we know her “experience” has allowed he to be soooo visionary and ahead of her time, she was smart enough to vote for the Iraq war…
Obama seems to have pretty good judgment. But he also seems to know how to work the system. It’s more of a crap shoot with Obama, but he could end up being a great great president.
The problem going with Hillary is that she’s going to continue to be a shill for corporations, not the people. we know that. just do a little research on her media reform package and you’ll see what I mean.
Obama is running as a angry black man. You don’t see that. Observe the wry smile. Still don’t see it look at his wife.
I’m not too worried about Hillary and corporations. I”m more concerned about the war. Obama couldn’t handle it. That’s clear.
Obama will drift away in the next few months and Hillary will become tired and Bloomberg will probably step in and kick both their asses into a reality check.
I love how in this crazy world your get street cred for voting the exact opposite of how you should have in the moment.
If you think Obama is “a (sic) angry black man”…you have a problem with race.
oh….and Bloomberg is a joke. His base is Wealthy-White-Men-and-Corporate-Media. He won’t even get 15% of the popular vote if he runs, let alone win a state.
All you have to do is put a bow tie and a white shirt on Obama. Farrakhan smiles.
I agree Bloomberg has no chance of winning. But, If he steps in Obama is History. A white corporate Jew, a Woman, A black imperialist. Hmmmm
Obama, the angry black man. wow, i fear what that implies Martin Luther King to be. considering the unbelievable rigamaroll these candidates have to continually move through, how could one not come off as a bit peeved sometimes?
it’s the system that’s to blame, the system i tells ya! this entire process (primary elections) is wholly degrading. degrading to the candidates who have to go out and whore themselves to an increasingly itemized and ignorant public, degrading to the public for being put into that position, and degrading to the media for openly and systematically putting the public in that position. the campaigning is such a sad spectacle. articulation, context, dialogue, that’s all but kissed away… we demand speculation and gossip, and gravy!
the process just goes on for too long. 1.5 yrs of outright campaigning is an outright farce. these will be the first primaries to push a billion dollar price tag. my lord what a waste of money. in Britain, the prime minister candidates are given a finite amount of time (about 3 months) to campaign. the total cost for their last one was only 44 million and, amazingly, Britain’s government still functions. the only thing lost in their elections is the media’s chance for a 2 year circle jerk.
“Hope and inspiration. Come on , smarten up.”
It’s actually a hard thing to be positive in this current state of affairs and yes, the choices we have are not the best that I would’ve chosen, but this is now what we have so I’m just going with this dream.
Why not?
I’m going with a leap.
You’re so smart?
What ? no vote?
I do hope somehow Wesley Clark get’s a postion to help.
Well said Jacob. I agree whole heartedly.
On Meet the Press, the Newsweek guy was saying if it is a Clinton-Giuliani or Clinton-Huckabee race, Bloomberg would definitely get in. I think it would be fascinating to see a “sane” third party candidate with a big checkbook. Perot was crazy as a loon and won 19%! (Teddy Roosevelt – a former president who ran as a third party candidate – won 27%).
