Diggin’ it for sure!
Worth a watch, but old stoners are still embarrassing.
i don’t know, there is something endearing about “old stoners” still brimming with energy, and life. young stoners are the real embarrassment.
I love the incongruity of it all..
(yes, I used the “i” word…I can, because I went to College..at least for a while..).
The poem is wonderful..and I do totally enjoy watching Ginsberg rocking out..
what a great guy to have over for dinner!
This clip instantly brought a smile to my face. The fact that this is embarrassing to Mr. beetlejuice is very sad indeed. I think a re-reading of Ginsberg’s Howl is in order for him, or even better a listen to Ginsberg reading it himself. To trivialize him as an old stoner is truly a disgrace. What contributions to art, literature and culture has he made lately.
Malcolm-I just see his self importance as inflated and this performance as an overly cynical pastiche of generalities. It’s entertaining ,though with Paul.
What’s wrong with the guy just having a little fun? The idea that this is a reflection of him feeling self important is purely a projection of the observer. As for the view of him being overly cynical, I don’t even want to get started on that subject. I’ve got a living to make.
I see your point , I thought he was being overtly serious with those thoughts. B
great stuff mr. dr. finally got a chance to check this out tonight. what I love about it is how Mc Cartney’s music and Ginsberg’s beat flow so well together. an enjoy to watch.
and j.man, there’s great young stoners from all generations…
