well i’m smitten. great voice, and song.
yo Jman..
smitten are ye?
you and more than a few others no doubt..
the song is from Mazzy’s first Lp..”She Hangs Brightly”
there were only 2 others I’m aware of so far..
“So Tonight That I May See”..and “Among my Swan”.
all excellent as far as I’m concerned..but I admit a craving for this type of music…to me it’s part of a natural musical evolution with roots in such groups as Velvet Underground..and the Doors.
the songstess is Hope Sandoval..and her latest incarnation is “Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions”..of late she has collaborated with Bert Jansch..among others.
unique,poetic,surreal.
well well well. Seems things have been connected lately.
I think you know my connection with this post but maybe not. We’ll speak off air.
There’s some cool history here.
The Warm Inventions tour band had a previous member of Acetone on guitar and recently I received a live tape of Paris with them doing a version of Acetone’s “Louise”. (on my podcast) Twas a nice treat. Hope has such a beautiful voice.
Nice posty.
jet..
I did not know that..
you run in rarified circles my friend…
