50th Anniversary of ‘Kind of Blue’ Recording

On this day 50 years ago, March 2nd, 1959, side one of Kind of Blue was recorded at 30th Street Studios in NYC. Side two would be recorded the next month on April 22nd.

alto saxophonist – Cannonball Adderley
tenor saxophonist – John Coltrane
pianists – Wynton Kelly and Bill Evans
bassist – Paul Chambers
drummer – Jimmy Cobb

Kind of Blue is the highest selling jazz record of all time, and with good reason.

    an amazing album, that goes without saying
    it’s impressive that it continues to sound so fresh after 50 years
