This discussion has it coming and going:
past, present, and a vision of the future.
Can you imagine hearing anything like this from either of the 2 party system candidates or parties?
Particularly in a Keynote Convention speech?
Me either.. forget the Capitalist vs/ Socialist, either/or paradigmn, that’s just a diversionary conditioning tactic designed to keep you polarized into “us vs/ them”, nullifying both your ability to see life and our situation clearly, and your resulting inate capacity to make the changes required for a better way of living.
The point here is to check this commentary out, apply some basic level of critical observation to what this person has to say, and act accordinly.
Worth the effort I reckon.

key points about the younger generation having a more open-ended commitment to each other and a less divisive ideological mindset. people that are able to hold the merits of both capitalism AND socialism in their heads? abominations surely…
i liked Gar’s overall tone here greatly. coldly sober, but hopeful.
By way of comparison..NJ Gov’ Christie will provide entertainment as keynote speaker at the Republican convention.
Can’t fucking wait for that one.
Uhh, but on reflection..yes I can.
I really enjoyed Gar’s perspective and direction he views the Left/Green/Progressives should go in.
“If it collapsed tomorrow, the Right-wing would take over. And if it collapsed to the left, we wouldn’t be prepared, and from above all, we wouldn’t know from the bottom of our own experience on how to build and run and change and transform the system”
It’s not that the Left doesn’t understand the problems, it’s that we’ve lost the ability to lead. We need to take ownership in our communities, businesses, local governments and then transform the system.
Ian..nicely put.
It is, and always has been a bottom up push.
Leader’s, as such, always’ follow the people..
keep pushing..and create the new paradigmn on the template of how you lead your life..(mine too!).
Good change will come from that.
