“Magnolia”

I must say that a true “Sunday Selection” should be of a certain “Sunday Feel” and in this respect my last one was not right.
I’m on track now as I’m a big fan of the “Sunday Kinda Mood” and those who know what I’m talkin’ about will be diggin’ this one.
JJ Cale the man, epitomizes the laid-back feel of the sunday. The, “I’m not goin to do nothing but cruise today, relish in the euphoria of the post food consumption latter hours of the earlier painful hangover and groove to the “Sounds Of Sunday”!
Personally, I could’ve done without the sax but the greatness of Mr. Cale is overwhelming.
If your not familiar with the track it is found on my favorite JJ lp “Naturally”. Other gems are “Okie” and “Really”

very cool JJ….different vibe, but sort of reminds me of Uncle Lou Reeds’ confessional “Coney Island Baby…”

as far as the sax goes, I think that can only truly be appreciated while sipping a martini or double scotch, on the rocks….check it out and get back to me.

The studio version of Mag. is amazing as the whole lp Naturally is and should absolutley be in any audiofile’s collection!
Songs;(all which he wrote and does better than the others)
After Midnight, Call Me The Breeze, Cocaine, Crazy Mama etc…
