It should be noted that in the last few days Senator Clinton has said some pretty out there things regarding Iran and the defense of Israel. In last week’s ABC sponsored shit show, Hillary in passing mentioned massive retaliation on Iran if they were to attack Israel in any way. No follow up question was asked, nor was there any clarification from Clinton as to what exactly “massive retaliation” entailed. All we had afterwords was Pat Buchanan on MSNBC having a conniption fit, one of his every so often justified ones.

Usually “massive retaliation” means a nuclear strike, which prompts from me this rhetorical question… would we really bomb with nuclear missiles the nation which leads Earth in the number of performed nose jobs? Something about that just doesn’t sound right.

Now again today, Hillary decided to escalate her world of pain language:

“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran,” Clinton said. “In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.”

First off, Iran is never going to attack Israel with nuclear weapons (should they even get them years from now). They will never do it, because they know it would mean the end of their nation. Moving on…

The foolishness of her taking this tact is something I find startling. Have we won either the Iraq or Afghanistan wars using this guns blazing strategy? Would we ever in wars of choice? This goes into a larger problem of the countless individuals, on all sides of the political playground, who continue to allow the Bush crew to shape their reality. The black and white shades can come off now. We don’t live in that world anymore, we never did.

If we are to responsibly move forward as a nation, the complete rhetorical paradigm with which we begin to discuss foreign policy needs evolve into something more reflective of the actual complex world we live in.

Punchline to the bar joke: so Israel says, “I can’t hear you because I’ve got a carrot in my ear.”

    She’s lost it…

“I think that we should be looking to create an umbrella of deterrence that goes much further than just Israel,” she said. “Of course I would make it clear to the Iranians that an attack on Israel would incur massive retaliation from the United States.”…

“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president we will attack Iran,” Clinton said. “In the next ten years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.”

Bush doesn’t even sound this crazy.

yeah she is all over the place with what she says. just illustrates how she has no vision on how to move away from the chaos. her eye is on grabbing power-

would be interesting if McCain (grampa munster) ‘reached across the aisle’ and took her as his running mate but maybe that is gona be joe lieberman’s role-

interesting how the “obliteration” quote…disappeared from the media…

was it just a bad dream?

I’ll tell you what this is. It’s Hillary pandering in the same way Mccain did on this issue with Hamas. The only difference is McCain needs Lieberman to tell him what to think and Hillary needs polls to tell her what to think.
