one of the most intense , musically diverse, and unique bands ever.
and with Stuart Staples.. one of the most distinctive vocalist. ..you’ll ever hear…bar none.
I got hooked on their “2nd” LP..from 95′..
(ck..”travelling light”..”my sister”..”she’s gone”..).
a world and vision of their own..nice to be able to partake of same.
enjoy.

Joe Ely.
Genius.
saw him years ago when he opened for The Clash..
Not so far removed..

It’s called The Coral Sea and stands as audio documentation of two separate live performances she did in collaboration with My Bloody Valentine guitarist Kevin Shields. Sean Tevis is from Kansas who decided he was done being represented by a crazy state rep, an anti-abortion, anti-evolution, pro-censorship, pro-surveillance, anti-gay incumbent. So he decided he’d run against him to take him out. He’s running a sweet internet campaign right now to basically raise enough money on the internet to swamp his oppenents. […]

I went and saw this film the day it came out, on a lark really. I had been outside the US the previous month and consequently missed any marketing of the film. But it looked neat, I enjoy animation, and had time to kill… the perfect storm.
And what a film it was. […]
