Genius.
saw him years ago when he opened for The Clash..
Not so far removed..
a hero to Joe Strummer, and a fine fucking Outlaw Musician,
and Lyricist..
“yeah me and Billy the Kid,
we never did get along,
I didn’t like the way he cocked his hat..
and he wore his gun all wrong..”
and then it’s downhill for Billy in this Zen/Existential tale ..

laying in a motel bed for hours listening to the watch tick, with a pet chiwawa later shot by Billy the Kid… an act of payback for getting framed at Wells Fargo? which itself was revenge for Billy shooting Joe’s horse. a tangled web has been weaved.
the “Boxcars” clip from the same performance has some mean guitar.
