cant’ resist this somewhat jaunty version of “Mercenaries”..
1984..somewhere in Europe..

“lets go to Moscow..”
maybe Afghanistan?

    the song’s still very contemporary. drummer gets an A+ in posture.

    I saw him play this, I forget where, at a club in LA around that time, and it was War. Chris Spedding on guitar, Mr. Cale in full fatigues. It was a blistering rendition, with warlike intensity; something I will never forget. He F’ing meant it. Maybe it needs to be played now, and as loud as ever.
